What should I take? The capsules? Or tea? Or is the full tincture better?

The best way to decide which form of wild cardoon (capsules, tinctures, tea) you use is based on your life situation. In terms of cost, all variants are roughly the same.

Full tinctures according to Storl: The full tinctures can be dosed very flexibly and are therefore suitable for beginners to get to know or to experiment with the dosage. Longer applications are possible - even over months or years. Most tinctures contain a small amount of alcohol (25% vol.) and are therefore not suitable for children or pregnant women, for example. However, they can be kept for up to three years without refrigeration, even if they have already been opened.

The alcohol-free version must be stored in a cool place and has a guaranteed shelf life of about half a year. It is the best form of consumption for children because it tastes very sweet.

Organic teasel root capsules: Are you looking for alcohol-free wild teasel that is suitable for everyday use? Then the organic teasel root capsules are ideal. One capsule corresponds to 30 drops of the full tincture and is also a full substitute in terms of effectiveness. Ideally, you should store the capsules in a cool place or at least protected from sunlight.

During development, we placed great importance on the capsule size being small. With category "1" we have managed to do this well despite the large amount of content. Even people who have problems swallowing capsules generally have little difficulty with it - in many cases it also works well with children. And if it is easier: the capsules can be opened. Then the contents must be stirred into a spoonful of honey. This promotes absorption and partially replaces the capsule shell.

Dried teasel roots / leaves: The root tea replaces the tinctures and capsules, whereas the leaf tea contains even more bitter substances and thus supports normal detoxification.

Teasel Root Balm: The balm is intended for external use and penetrates local areas that are difficult to reach with purely systemic treatment (capsules, tinctures or tea). Severely affected joints or areas of the body that are repeatedly conspicuous can benefit more from it.

What works best, capsules or tinctures?

That's easy to answer: All forms of wild teasel have the same effect. So you can decide freely.

One capsule corresponds to 30 drops of the alcoholic full tincture or 50 drops of the alcohol-free version.

What does the term “full tincture according to Storl” mean?

The term "full tincture" was coined by Wolf-Dieter Storl in the book "Naturally Curing Lyme Disease" and states that a tincture is only a real full tincture if it is made with the maximum possible amount of roots. The so-called "batch ratio between liquid and plant" determines the quality of the extract.

In short: a lot of liquid and little plant results in a weaker extract. In the teasel world, we use liquid and plant in equal volumes - this creates a full tincture.

It is important to know that the proportions are not considered by weight, but by volume. For a 1:1 ratio, this means: one liter of carrier liquid must be mixed with at least 700 grams of roots.

Are the drops a medication? Will my health insurance cover the costs?

“No” and “Generally no”.

The wild teasel has no proven medicinal effect and is not a medicinal plant. The tinctures and capsules are dietary supplements.

Some private insurance companies reimburse the costs (although sometimes only partially) as part of services provided by alternative practitioners or private medical prescriptions. It is best to ask your health insurance company in advance. However, the chances of reimbursement are rather slim.

Which shipping service do you use and how long does it take?

We generally ship free of charge with DHL, unless we have made a special agreement with you (e.g. express) or the quantity requires palletizing.

If we have an email address from you (which is always the case with online orders), we will inform you on the day of dispatch and also provide you with the shipment information. Tracking is possible online directly with DHL. As we do NOT pass on your email address for data protection reasons, you will not receive emails directly from DHL.

If an order is received Monday to Friday by around 3 p.m., we will ship the same day if the goods are available. We also usually ship on Saturdays around 12 p.m. However, we cannot guarantee this 100% as we are a family business :-). But we will try our best.

Standard delivery times for Kardenwelt packages:
Eight out of ten parcels are delivered in Germany the next working day (does not apply to islands).

Within the EU, delivery can take two to five working days. Austria is the fastest with an average of two working days.
Do you need your product very urgently? For example, to your holiday destination? Please contact us by email or phone. We can do it.

What liquids do you use for maceration?

  • For the alcoholic tinctures: 37.5%igen organic vodka from Germany
  • For the alcohol-free tinctures: Organic glycerin (E422)

Tinctures, capsules - what quantity corresponds to what amount?

Here are some important key figures and comparative values:

  • 100ml of teasel tincture corresponds to approx. 2000 drops.
  • 100ml of teasel tincture (alcoholic) lasts about one month.
  • 100ml of teasel tincture (alcohol-free) lasts for about 20 days.
  • 30 drops of tincture correspond to one capsule.

Do you import roots from China or other countries?

No. We have our own cultivation areas and some contract farmers in Germany, always organic certified.

There is no doubt that there is teasel from China. However, it is almost always uncertified. In many cases, it is also other plants.

In short: our teasel is always fresh, has not travelled long distances and is officially certified organic. So there is simply no point in importing teasel from China or other places in the world... and it would be completely contrary to our and your quality standards.

The tincture doesn't always taste the same, why could that be?

The manufacturing process is standardized and always the same. We do not use any additives other than teasel roots, vodka or glycerin.

The different tastes are due to the different soil composition of the fields and the different weather conditions. In the different regions of Germany, the soils often differ greatly, which can lead to significantly different tastes in individual production units. That is the nature of a product from nature. There is simply no uniform industrial standard. And that is a good thing - at least we think so.

But all Kardenwelt tinctures have one thing in common: They are organic, they are free from preservatives and pesticides, they are intense, strong and you can taste the wild cardoon – either way.

Do you still have a problem with a batch? Please contact us by phone or email. We always have individual solutions ready and are happy to help. We want your experience of the Wild Teasel to be as wonderful as ours.

Can I take antibiotics or other medications and cardamom tincture at the same time?

Apart from the fact that it doesn't really make sense, because you already have the effect against Lyme disease, ALMOST all products can also be taken in parallel with antibiotic medication.

The only exception is alcoholic tinctures. Alcohol can have a negative effect on the effect of the medication and cause interactions. We strongly advise against taking them at the same time.

However, it is much more important to take it AFTER treatment. We recommend taking wild teasel – no matter what form – for at least the first six to eight weeks. During this time, the immune system is still weakened by the antibiotic and can certainly use some support :-).
