We value outstanding quality
"That can mean a lot," you might be thinking now? It does. And we prove it to you: Read more about organic cultivation, ratio, lab tests, and our ecological balance.
Production according to Storl
Especially a lot of product in the product: We use a 1:1 extraction ratio (according to Storl) for all organic milk thistle root full tinctures.
Your safety
Soils and wild teasel plants are regularly tested by external laboratories for harmful substances such as heavy metals.
And everything organic
The cardoon roots for our products naturally come from certified organic cultivation and from Germany.

Cardoon World: Wild Cardoon in Premium Quality
Years ago, we were privately looking for a good teasel root tincture. What we found were products with often very weak extraction ratios and therefore little root content. So we thought: It can be done better.
This was followed by a lot of research and some experiments with wild teasel and the extraction ratio according to Storl, until finally the time came: We were able to produce a genuine full teasel root tincture in organic quality. So we first founded the Teasel Shop – and then today's Teasel World.
Here are also the answers to your questions:
- Yes, the organic certification is officially checked annually on site.
- Yes, the picture shows one of our fields in Bergatreute. It is used exclusively to obtain seeds for our farmers. It was taken at the beginning of July. You can tell by the pink ring around the head of the wild teasel.

Why is the approach ratio so important for your purchasing decision?
In plant extracts, a ratio determines the quality of the extract. More precisely: the ratio between liquid and plant material.
Lots of liquid and little plant material, for example, result in a weaker extract. In the Karden world, we use equal volumes of liquid and plant material – this creates a full tincture.
It is important to know that the proportions are not considered by weight, but by volume. For a 1:1 ratio, this means: one liter of carrier liquid must be combined with at least 700 grams of roots.
One more tip: pay attention to the alcohol content of tinctures made from freshly harvested roots. It is not decisive but a good indicator. The more freshly harvested roots used in the production, the lower the alcohol content usually is in a plant extract.

A lot of effort for a lot of product in the product
Have you ever tried making a plant extract? Then you know well that the mentioned 1:1 ratio is only achieved with great effort.
The graphic clearly shows it:
With a 1:1 ratio, the extraction vessel is filled to the brim with carrier liquid and burdock roots – this creates a full tincture. With smaller ratios like 1:2, 1:5, or even 1:10, the vessel is only filled with liquid. The amount of plant material added is significantly less – no full tincture is created.
With our burdock root tinctures, you can be sure: more root in the extract – more root in the product.

Quality also means safety – on all levels
- Cultivation for Your Safety
We work only with certified organic farmers, ensuring sustainability. This means, among other things: no chemical pesticides, no monocultures. - Space for Your Safety
We process the roots of the wild teasel under clean conditions in specially equipped facilities here in the Allgäu region. - Stainless Steel for Your Safety
We produce the plant extracts exclusively in suitable containers. That’s why we use stainless steel barrels. - Filters for Your Safety
We filter the liquid multiple times before bottling. This removes, among other things, earthy suspended particles – keeping the product pure and natural. - Bottles for Your Safety
We use Meplat bottles to protect the products: sturdy, medically sterile, with UV protection; also suitable for medications. - Capsules for Your Safety
We have the finely ground and germ-reduced wild teasel powder filled by a certified German pharmaceutical service provider.

As a family business, we take responsibility
Perhaps we have spoken on the phone before or still do? Because Kardenwelt is a family business.
And maybe that's why it is so important to us that we work with impeccable quality. As a family, as a family-run business, we do everything for Kardenwelt: Each of us takes responsibility for a part of the company. From our point of view, it cannot be done any other way if you want to be there for your customers in the field of food and plant-based products.
For the cultivation and harvest of the wild teasel, we have therefore defined strict criteria – both for ourselves and for the farmers we work with:
- The cultivation areas are located far from major roads and other disturbances.
- The soils comply with the heavy metal limits that apply to organic farming.
- The wild teasel plants grow without chemical pesticides.
- We process the wild teasel plants immediately after harvesting.
- We clean the wild teasel plants only with water pressure.
This applies without exception and is checked both by ourselves and by external laboratories.

This is how the wild teasel products arrive safely to you
The best product in the world is worth nothing if it doesn't arrive safely to you. For this reason, we at Kardenwelt have chosen sturdy cardboard made from recycled paper.
Fits, wobbles, and has space? Only the first applies to our outer packaging: they fit perfectly to the product, so nothing wobbles.
The bottles and jars travel in custom-cut forms that are tailor-made – you can see this in the product images. Thanks to this packaging, the glass product containers are well protected from breaking.
By the way, some shipping providers consider packaging made purely from recycled paper unsuitable if damaged. Insurance-approved stability can then only be achieved with a lot of plastic…
We see this differently. And the extremely low damage rate in our shipping proves us right.
And if something doesn't fit, just let us know. We will fix it. Quickly and without bureaucracy.
Wir bedanken uns für Ihr Vertrauen und wünschen Ihnen für Ihren Weg alles Gute!
